  abstract = {<p>The control strategy recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) is early diagnosis and antibiotic treatment to minimize morbidity, disability, and socioeconomic impact of Buruli ulcer (BU). This control strategy has evolved with the introduction of effective antibiotic treatment. It hinges around four pillars and is implemented through the three-tier levels of the health:</p>

	<p>Strengthening of the health system</p>
	</li>
	<li>
	<p>Standardized case management</p>
	</li>
	<li>
	<p>Supervision, monitoring, and evaluation of control activities</p>

<p>To ensure the quality of the control strategy, WHO has provided some BU key indicators. Furthermore, WHO has been promoting the integrated approach to the control of skin NTDs since 2016.</p>
