We evaluated its capacity to detect patients with ulcers that tested PCR positive for&nbsp;<em>Treponema pallidum</em>&nbsp;subsp.&nbsp;<em>pertenue</em>. DPP detected 84% of ulcers that were positive by PCR.</p>
