One Health has been a collaborative model of effort for several years and yet there are many potential stakeholders who are unfamiliar with One Health. The future of the One Health model in North America depends on a multi-model population that recognizes the potential scenarios of zoonotic impacts on society. The medical community tasked with human healthcare serves as the other gatekeeper of One Health. Within the national framework of public health in North America, many groups affect the potentiality of zoonotic disease spread. The success of One Health as a model of prevention is based in continued self-promotion. There is a need to include the topic of One Health in school curriculums beginning in grade school to promote, in ways that students can understand the importance of correct hygiene and behavioral practices when interacting with animals, insects, etc.
