AB - Schistosomiasis, as one of the 20 Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) according to the World Health Organization (WHO), is threatening millions of lives in endemic areas, especially in Africa [1–3]. Schistosomiasis is highly prevalent in many low- and mid-income countries. The road map for neglected tropical diseases 2021–2030 set targets for elimination schistosomiasis as a public health problem in all 78 endemic countries by 2030.
