60th Congress of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine
About the event
Since 1962, the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine has organized MEDTROP, a congress that has established itself as a national benchmark in the field, addressing relevant, cutting-edge, and comprehensive topics, and benefiting from significant national and international partnerships and collaborations.
It is with great pleasure that we announce the 60th Congress of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (MEDTROP 2025), to be held from November 2 to 5, 2025, at the João Pessoa Convention Center, Paraíba.
MEDTROP, organized by the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (SBMT), is considered the largest multidisciplinary event in tropical medicine in Latin America, which will bring together more than 3 thousand participants and together we will also celebrate the 60th Edition of this important scientific event for the country.
For the 2025 Congress, the chosen location was the João Pessoa Convention Center in Paraíba. One of the capitals with the best quality of life in the Northeast, João Pessoa is known as "Gateway to the Sun" because the city is home to Ponta do Seixas, the easternmost point in the Americas, which makes the city known as the place "where the sun rises first on the American continent." A peaceful destination, it's also known for its beautiful beaches, forró music, São João festivities, lively bars, beautiful historic buildings, and a very welcoming population.
