Professor Tim Hallett, from Imperial College London, explains the Thanzi La Onse approach to healthcare system modelling in Malawi, and describes example analyses that cover the impact of health system strengthening and resource allocation decision-making. This is followed by reflections from researchers, policymakers and development partners on the use of this approach and broader opportunities and challenges to enhancing the use of health systems modelling to inform decision-making in LMIC health systems.
