AU Media Fellowship - Empowering Africa's Media for Agenda 2063

The African Union Media Fellowship (AUMF) has launched a new health journalism track, led by Africa CDC and supported by the World Bank, to strengthen evidence-based health reporting and promote health security across the continent.

The initiative will support five journalists, one from each Africa CDC region, through a 16-month fellowship featuring expert mentorship, fieldwork, and exclusive training. Fellows will cover urgent topics like vaccine equity, disease surveillance, and health system resilience - drawing lessons from past outbreaks like COVID-19, Ebola, and mpox.

As part of AUMF’s third cohort, fellows will join a pan-African media network, attend workshops, and participate in a global learning tour. The program is backed by the EU Delegation to the AU, GIZ, and other partners, reinforcing the AU’s commitment to impactful storytelling for Agenda 2063.
