Call for Papers: Bridging Gaps in Global Health with Medicinal Chemistry
The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, ACS Medicinal Chemistry Letters, and ACS Infectious Diseases are issuing a call for manuscripts for a Special Issue celebrating the contributions of the medicinal chemistry community to address challenges of global health.
Efforts in drug discovery for global health are deeply intertwined with the broader mission of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which advocate for equitable access to healthcare and resilience against climate change. Developing therapeutics for diseases that disproportionately affect poorly resourced countries─such as Chagas disease, leishmaniasis, and schistosomiasis─not only addresses urgent medical needs but also contributes to reducing health disparities and empowering vulnerable populations. Additionally, tackling climate-sensitive diseases like dengue and malaria supports global preparedness and adaptation strategies in the face of environmental change.
Manuscripts should be submitted through the ACS Publishing Center by August 31, 2026.
