NNN Travel Award Scheme for Affected Communities
Bringing affected voices to the centre of NNN 2026
NNN is opening a Travel Award Scheme to support people directly affected by neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) to attend the 17th Annual NNN Conference, 29 September – 1 October 2026, Marriott Kigali, Rwanda.
This year's conference theme, "People, Systems & Resilience: Adapting NTD Responses Through Holistic Approaches," puts community leadership at the centre of the NTD elimination agenda. This scheme is one practical way we're living that out, by helping ensure the people whose lives are most affected by NTDs are in the room, not just discussed in it.
What the Travel Award Includes:
- Match funding of approximately 50% of estimated travel costs, up to £1,000–£1,400 per person
- Conference registration fee waived for the nominated delegate
- Support for up to 6 delegates across the scheme
Who Can Apply
Applications are open to NNN Member organisations, who may nominate one person directly affected by an NTD to be considered for the scheme. This includes people:
- Living with an NTD
- Recognised as a community representative or advocate
Priority will be given to organisations that:
- Could not otherwise fund an affected person's attendance at NNN 2026, or
- Have not previously sponsored an affected person's attendance at an NNN conference
Full eligibility and selection criteria are available here.
