USICD : United States International Council on Disabilities.

The USICD Board of Directors in 2011 launched the process of developing a new strategic plan for the organization, and will present the plan at the 2012 Annual Meeting. The revised mission and vision statement developed in the process affirms our founding purpose and guides our efforts moving forward. USICD's Mission: To promote the rights and full participation of persons with disabilities through global engagement and United States foreign affairs. USICD's Vision : The membership of USICD has a vision of a world where the equal rights of persons with disabilities are protected and advanced, where the capacities and talents of persons with disabilities are celebrated and elevated, and where people with disabilities come together across borders as a global disability community.
