Ahead of International Snakebite Awareness Day (19 September 2026), RSTMH hosted a global webinar, Connecting Climate, Communities and Care: A One Health Approach to Snakebite.

The webinar brought together experts from across research, clinical care, public health and policy to explore how a One Health approach can help address the ongoing burden of snakebite envenoming. Discussions highlighted the interconnected relationships between human health, animal health and the environment, and examined how collaboration across sectors can strengthen prevention, preparedness, patient care and policy responses.

Speakers shared insights and experiences from high-burden settings, discussing the impact of environmental and climatic change on snakebite risk, community vulnerability and prevention strategies, and access to effective treatment and care.
