Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Treatment and Care in Neglected Settings with Poor Access to Medicines
Abstract
Frontline health workers in rural Pakistan address neglected tropical diseases like scabies and cutaneous leishmaniasis, hindered by limited treatments and high costs. Outreach aids early diagnosis, but gaps in care erode trust. Ethical practices, patient education, and advocacy for systemic change aim to improve healthcare equity in underserved communities. This scenario portrays the ethical dilemma and highlights the context, in which health workers have to navigate.
