Education and health action against the social stigma of leprosy in adolescence from a public school in Belém/Pa

Abstract
Objective: Report the experience of developing an action at a public school of Belém, with a view of awareness students about the social stigma of the leprosy. Method: Firstly, a data collection was made in the participants wrote on the role the concept of leprosy. Later, a tune of time was performed, with discussion about the stigma of the leprosy from the middle ages to the present. In addition, signs and symptoms of the disease were discussed. In the third moment, a game of questions and answers was carried out, where the classroom was divided into two large groups, in orden to analyze and teach learning about the leprosy. And in the fourth moment, gifts and cards emoticons were given to the participants to evaluate the action. Results: During the action, he realized that the students had a wrong view about disease. This shows the relevance of carrying out health education activities in this theme. Conclusion: Through the elaboration of the work it was possible to highlight the existing problem, with regard to the social stigma related to leprosy and the lack of information about the disease. At this juncture, the educational action enabled the clarification, and this way contributes that they can be agents that disseminate information to friends, Family and Community.
