Ethical Implications and Patient-Centered Innovations in Digital Healthcare

Abstract
Integrating advanced digital technologies, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and telemedicine, has revolutionized healthcare delivery. However, it also brings complex ethical considerations regarding patient privacy, data security, and equitable access. This chapter examines the ethical implications of integrating healthcare technologies, focusing on privacy, patient empowerment, and innovation in improving healthcare delivery. By employing a mixed-methods approach—combining qualitative interviews with stakeholders and quantitative surveys—this study identifies critical challenges. It proposes actionable ethical strategies for equitable and secure adoption of healthcare technologies. It seeks to provide healthcare professionals, policymakers, and technology developers with insights into ethical strategies for successful technology adoption.
